1851 2nd December 4:00pm
I was just getting on the boat and it was big, I mean really big! I was starting to get scared. I was thinking to myself, should I really go to Ballarat and leave my family in Greece? I'm only 15 years old and I'm not like 20 years old. I'm no adult. I asked the man "How long will it take me to go to Ballarat?". He said " About four and a half months. So i got on the boat and left. I said to myself "This is going to be a very, very long time.

Just got off that boat and now following my map to Ballarat. It looks like a long way to Ballarat but I'm going to do it. Two weeks later, I just got to Ballarat and I can't wait to start digging and find my fortune. I found a pick axe, so I started diiging but I found nothing. It was hot and I was sweating so much that it looked like a jumped in a lake. I saw a man digging so hard, I could not even explain it. I asked him if he'd like to be partners and he said yes. I asked what his name was and he said Bill. I asked Bill "Do you want to have a beer at my tent?". He said "ok". So he came back with me. He asked me how long I had been here for. I told him I just arrived here at 1:00pm. He told me I need to have a license to mine for gold or I'd probably be hurt or injured by the police. When I asked Bill how his night was, he replied "Not that good". I heard a bloody gun shoot. I really don't like the policeman as they probably killed another person just for not having a license.
So we both headed off to get our new license I went ito the license store and I said "G-day, my name is Bob Miller and want to get a license. What's your name." he said, "Bill." "Hello Bill I need a new license however, can I get one today?" "Yes I need to get a photo of you come back in a hour, it will be ready."
Two hours later; I was waklin to the License Shop again and there it was my license I took it and left the shop. "Patrick I acquired my license so now we can go dig for gold. the guy in the shop doing the license his name was Bill. So let us go to try find our fortune."
